East Elmhurst, NY 33 friends 26 reviews 9 photos Share review Embed review 542014 2 photos This was single handedly the worst show I have ever had the misfortune of sitting through in my life. I brought my two daughters along with my parents to view a show we thought would be a nice treat for my girls. The performers sang terribly and didnt even sing the right words to the songs my daughters know by heart almost confusing them and asking me why Dora didnt know her own song. The acting was terrible and they couldnt even pronounce jaguar correctly. This show is a scam and I cannot believe Groupon had the audacity to sell these tickets and charge 40 per seat. The kids were supposed to get flags which were nothing more than a poorly copied black and white pirate sign on the back of the folded paper programs. Apparently Nickelodeon is associated with this show and I will be contacting them as well. Brooklyn, NY 3 friends 3 reviews Share review Embed review 432011 First to Review My husband and I took our 2.5 yr old daughter to see Dora the Explorer - The Pirate Adventure today, 4311 at the Millenium Theater in Brooklyn. Never seen a more amateur, disappointingly unprofessional production. Although the announcer said Nichelodeon licensed the production, Im under the impresson it was a fake one. The singers were off-key or lip-synched, costumes were pathetic; and to top it all off there was a 20 minute intermission an in one hour show. I want to find out if there are any guidelines on childrens shows and how theyre supposed to be structured. Its been known when a show must run at least an hour and 20 minutes due to union regs, wonder if its the case here. The show started late, so a bunch of little kids, most under 5 had to sit through a 1.5 hr show. Brilliant. Another curious observation is there was absolutely no Nichelodeon or NickJr. I have to seriously question whether the entire audience was ripped off in an elaborate scheme under the guise of a hugely popular childrens show. If in fact it was a real production, shame on Nickelodean and NickJr. The school has a great vibe, fully inclusive, no one feels left out, instructors are supportive and fun to be around.
